This week is all about celebrity splitsville. First it was Courtney Cox and husband of 11-years David Arquette, now “Dirty” singer Christina Aguilera has confirmed she is separating from husband of five years, Jordan Bratman.
"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," Aguilera said in a statement released today.
A source close to the couple said that the pair "have been separated for a few months ... they are now living apart, and they will see how that goes." While there is no talk of divorce just yet, "they were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife,” said the unnamed source.
Aguilera met the music executive in 2002 at her music management company, called Azoff Music Management. The pair married in 2005 and welcomed a son, Max in January of 2008.
Earlier in the year, Aguilera, while promoting her upcoming album “Bionic” gave no indication of the separation, "I think it's important that [Max] sees mommy not be ashamed for her sexuality. ... We're art collectors, there are a lot of female nudes around the house. Max will be growing up in a house where it's just the norm. ... It's only weird when you shame it.”
The former Mouseketeer also said that the pair still shared “naked Sundays” but that obviously wasn’t enough to keep the romance alive.
