Top Percentage Gainers on Tuesday: KG, ACTI, LCC, ATPG

King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE:KG) skyrocketed 39.31% to $14.14 on over 256.19 million shares- more than 85X its average daily volume after the company announced that it has agreed to be acquired by Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) for $3.6 billion in cash, or $14.25 per share, which represents a premium of approximately 40% to King's closing price as of October 11, 2010.

The stock opened at $14.14 and made its fresh 52-week high of $14.17 on strong volumes. The stock went up more than 50% in the last one month of trading sessions.

ActivIdentity Corp. (NASDAQ:ACTI) soared 42.92% to $3.23 on over 16.79 million shares. The stock opened at $3.21 and is trading within the range of $3.21-$3.23. Assa Abloy said Tuesday that it has agreed to buy ActivIdentity Corp. for $162 million, or $3.25 a share. The deal represents a 48% premium over the average closing price for the 20 trading days ended Oct. 8.

The 52-week range of the stock is $1.77-$3.33. Today, 16.79 million shares are traded as compared to its average daily volume of 220K shares. So far, the market capitalization of the stock stands at $152.67 million.

US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) went up 6.11% to $9.55 on over 10.88 million shares. Last week, the company said that it flew fuller planes in September and expects to be profitable this year, as travel demand continues to show signs of rebounding.

So far, the market capitalization of the stock stands at $1.54 billion. Volumes were at 10.88 million shares—almost 2X its average daily volume.

ATP Oil & Gas Corporation (NASDAQ:ATPG) climbed 9.74% to $16.79 on over 8.77 million shares. The company announced first oil production at its Mississippi Canyon 941 #3 well in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The initial rate and associated pressures exceeded original expectations and the well established a rate in excess of 7,000 Boe per day.

Over the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range of $8.16-$23.97.
