Alcohol Related Deaths on the Rise

Time Magazine indicates that one in 25 deaths around the world is caused by alcohol consumption.  Alcohol is now as harmful to global health as tobacco was a decade ago.  In 2008, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association, 188,981 alcohol abuse related emergency room visits were made by patients who were underage.  This number reflects about one third of all emergency room visits made by this age group.

Alcohol addiction is a slow killer. More people die from alcohol addiction than from all other abused substances combined, including heroin. The main cause of death from alcohol abuse is accidents; however there are many health-related problems and deaths due to alcohol addiction.  The main health problems related to alcohol are cirrhosis of the liver, which is a chronic condition where the liver slowly deteriorates and malfunctions due to alcohol abuse, and throat cancer. People suffering with alcohol addiction don’t have to needlessly die because there is help for those who are afflicted.

Ninety-eight percent of those who suffer from alcohol addiction cannot and will not stop the alcohol abuse on their own.  Consequently, there is help for those who want to stop the endless cycle of alcohol addiction.  There are many alcohol addiction treatment centers that people can choose from; however, there are only a few treatment options that are truly effective.

Narconon Gulf Coast is one of the most successful alcohol treatment centers in the world.  Randy and Debbie Ross founded Narconon Gulf Coast because of problems they encountered and the research they conducted while trying to help their own son. One of the main problems Randy and Debbie found was that the typical 28 day twelve-step alcohol treatment program is woefully inadequate.  The couple established that the success rate associated with the short-term programs was dismal at best.  They also discovered that when the person suffering from alcohol addiction did not positively respond to the twelve-step program, then the program administrators would simply blame the person with the problem.  Randy and Debbie knew there had to be a better way.

Narconon Gulf Coast was created because of the methods uncovered through years of hard work and research with alcohol addiction.  Narconon Gulf Coast is a get off and stay off alcohol treatment center with a 90.2 percent success rate.  The success of Randy and Debbie’s alcohol treatment facility has surpassed their greatest hopes and aspirations.  You and/or your family can benefit from this unique alcohol treatment program and facility. If you or a loved one is suffering from alcohol addiction, take that first step and call Narconon Gulf Coast at 800-253-3168.  Trained alcohol addiction counselors are always available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
