Lakers Rebound with 98-95 Win over Sacramento

The Los Angeles Lakers re-surged after losing two games in Europe as they beat the Sacramento Kings 98-95 Wednesday night.

Kobe Bryant was part of the team that won the game but his performance was not that extraordinary with seven points, four rebounds, and two assists in almost 19 minutes. He played the game during the first nine minutes of the first and third quarters and was 2 of 10 from the field.

His teammates were not worried as they had Ron Artest and Pau Gasol on their side with each scoring 18 points that ultimately led to the Lakers' 98-95 triumph over the Kings.

Lakers had a lead of 15 when the game entered the fourth and the Kings had a chance to tie the game but they failed to utilize that opportunity.

Lakers' Shannon Brown had 17 points off the bench with Artest scoring 11 points in the first quarter with 4 of 5 from 3-point range in 23 minutes.

Carl Landry was the best player for the Kings with 23 points and eight rebounds in 39 minutes. Tyreke Evans, who was last season's rookie of the year, scored 13 points and eight assists in 33 minutes for the Kings.

The Kings had a 47-46 halftime lead on a Landry basket with three seconds left in that game. Bryant demolished that lead with a free throw with 6:52 left in the third and the Lakers went on to have a 74-59 lead at the end of third quarter.

European tour for the Lakers ended on consecutive losses to Minnesota on Oct. 4 in London and to Regal FC Barcelona in Spain on Oct. 7.
