Visa Inc. (NYSE:V) went up 0.57% to $77.61 after JPMorgan Chase & Co., this week, reported a 6.6% increase in credit-card spending. Spending on the bank’s credit cards increased to $79.6 billion during the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with $74.7 billion in the same period a year earlier and $78.1 billion in the second quarter.
The stock went down more than 11% year-to-date.
American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) was this week upgraded to Buy from Neutral by SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. The firm set a price target of $47. Shares of AXP are 0.33% down at $39.31.
Discover Financial Services (NYSE:DFS) is 0.51% lower to $17.57 after it created its fresh 52-week high of $17.94. Last week, the company reported that on October 6, 2010, Roy A. Guthrie, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Discover Financial Services, notified the company of his intent to retire in the summer of 2011.
At current market price, the market capitalization of the stock stands at $9.57 billion.
