Sexy New Miley Too Much For Parent Group

Miley Cyrus used to be the perfect teen role model. At least Hannah Montana, Cyrus’s alter ego, was. But Miley is intent on shedding her good-girl image and has plunged head on into teenage angst and trying to be sexy.

Cyrus’s latest video, “Who Owns My Heart?,” shows the pint-sized star rolling about in her underwear on a disheveled bed asking the camera invitingly “Who Owns My Heart?,” and wildly dancing, in very, very short shorts in a packed dance floor.

The barely-there outfits, occasional blindfold and proliferation of older men in the video has parent’s groups up in arms.

Tim Winters, president of the Parents Television Council said:

"It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly."

Cyrus turns 18 this year, and has repeatedly said she wants to leaver her Hannah Montana days behind, “I’m a completely different person now,” the young star quipped. “What I am sure about is I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be … well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly,” Cyrus was reported saying.

If Cyrus is intent of getting sexy, perhaps it is time for parents to stop letting their young children watch her. Hannah Montana is no longer in the building.
