Rapper T.I. Convinces Suicidal Man Not to Jump off Building
Controversial Rapper Really Does Give Back to Community
On Wednesday, 30-year-old rapper T.I. (real name Clifford Harris, Jr.) literally helped to save a life by convincing a suicidal man not to jump off of a building. It all started when cops responded to a call that a 22-year-old man was threatening to jump off a building in downtown Atlanta. The building happened to be the same building where Ryan Cameron's Radio Show is based. TMZ reports that T.I. heard about the suicidal man's threat on the radio and then called Cameron to see if there was anything he could do to help with the situation.
According to the report from TMZ, "Ryan Cameron tells us ... he told T.I. to roll over to the building,
where the rapper met with police and recorded a heartfelt video message
which cops then played for the man on the roof." In the message, which TMZ obtained, Harris reportedly said, "Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life. I'm here to help you. Please come down to talk to me." After seeing the video message, the young man finally agreed to step off the ledge of the building. He went down to the lobby of the building, where he was able to talk things out with Harris.
