Rapper T.I. Sentenced to 11 Months in Prison

Rapper Headed Back to Jail After Probation Revoked

T.I. had his probation revoked by a federal judge on Friday and was sentenced to 11 months in prison, meaning that this 30-year-old rapper will soon begin serving his second of two prison terms within a 2-year time span. This news just comes a few days after T.I. (real name Clifford Harris, Jr.) literally helped to save a human life by convincing a suicidal man in Atlanta not to jump off of a building.

According to a report from TMZ.com, "T.I. was busted last month on felony possession of a controlled substance ... while he was on probation for a 2009 federal gun possession conviction. T.I. told the judge he needed help for drug addiction and begged not to be sent back to prison." But the ruling has been made. T.I. will be going back to prison, despite his recent act of real community service.

On Wednesday, Harris helped to convince a 22-year-old man in Atlanta not to jump off a building by recording a heartfelt video message and having police show the suicidal man the message. After seeing the message, in which Harris said, "Nothing is that bad. Nothing in life is worth taking your life. I'm here to help you. Please come down to talk to me," the young man agreed to come down from the ledge and talk to Harris.

TMZ reports that one of the officers from Wednesday's incident actually testified in court on T.I.'s behalf. Unfortunately, that was not enough for the judge to change his or her mind. T.I. now has two weeks to turn himself in.
