Too Many Drugs?

Drugs A-Z Can Cause Confusion- And Side Effects

Before the advent of pharmaceutical ads and the fleet of pharma lobbyists, the first thing most people reached for if they weren’t feeling well was a couple of aspirins.

If that didn’t do it, they could count on their family doctor to give them a prescription for something stronger, which they dutifully took to the pharmacist to be filled.  Life was pretty simple and it was up to the doctor and pharmacist to get it right.  The patient didn’t have to think too much about it.

Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia warns that the variety of new drugs can cause confusion and serious side effects if not taken properly. “Now we have lots of ads advertising lots of drugs,” states Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia. “There seems to be more drugs than candy bars and if someone wants to remember what drug to ask their doctor about they need to bring a note pad to the couch while they watch TV.”

Unfortunately, the wrong drug taken in combination of the wrong drug can cause serious side effects, drug addiction, even death.

Once home with the drugs an individual has to make sure they are taking the right medication for the right ailment and they don’t get mixed up because another family member has drugs in the same medicine cabinet.

Adderal and Ativan, Celexa, Celebrex, Xanax, Zantac – the list goes on and apparently according to U.S. Pharmacopeia it extends to apparently 1500 drugs that have similar names.

Don’t wait until someone gets the idea that we need to set up a safer system for all of this.  Be sure and remember the adage “right drug - right patient - right time.”

Remember that some drugs, if taken too long, can create drug addiction.

Be safe and if you or someone you know has already over indulged with the goodies in the medicine cabinet, then call Narconon 877-413-3073.
