NFL Week 1 Schedule and Lines: New York Giants Open Against Washington Redskins as 3.5-Point Favorite

The NFL season is set to kickoff at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night with the New York Giants hosting the Washington Redskins at the Meadowlands and despite losing defensive end Osi Umenyiora for the season and wide receiver David Tyree out for six weeks the Super Bowl champs are currently favored by 3.5-points over the Skins.

Rudi Johnson will likely be in the backfield for the Detroit Lions who will be taking on Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and enter the 1:00 p.m. ET contest at the Georgia Dome as a 1-point favorite.

Brett Favre will be taking his New York Jets into Florida to face the Miami Dolphins as a 3-point favorite in their 1:00 p.m. ET game.

Tom Brady is expected to start and as a result the defending AFC champion New England Patriots are favored by 15.5-points in their 1:00 p.m. ET home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Superdome on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and enter the game as a 3-point favorite.

Donovan McNabb will look to get the Philadelphia Eagles off to a strong start as his team hosts the St. Louis Rams at 1:00 p.m. as a 6.5-point favorite.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers will open their 2008 season with a 1:00 p.m. ET game at home as a 6.5-point favorite over the Houston Texans.

The San Diego Chargers have been picked by many to unseat the Patriots in the AFC and are a 10-point favorite over the Carolina Panthers in their 4:15 p.m. ET game on Sunday.

The Arizona Cardinals open the season on the road as they travel to take on the San Francisco 49ers as a 2.5 favorite in their 4:15 p.m. ET game.

Tony Romo and Terrell Owens will lead the Dallas Cowboys into Ohio where they will face the Cleveland Browns as a 3-point favorite in their 4:15 p.m. game.

Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison have both been listed as probable as the Indianapolis Colts have been listed as a 9.5-point favorite in their home game against the Chicago Bears at 4:15 p.m.

NFL Schedule for Sept. 8 Monday Night Football

The Green Bay Packers will begin life after Brett Favre and the Aaron Rodgers led squad are currently a 3-point favorite as they host the Minnesota Vikings at 7:00 p.m. ET

The Denver Broncos will be featured in the late game on Monday night as a 1-point favorite as they travel to face Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders at 10:15 p.m. ET
