Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, is featured on the cover of the gossip tabloid Us Weekly Magazine on Wednesday.
Palin is featured on the cover holding her newborn baby with the title "Babies, Lies and Scandal". Palin is also on the cover of Ok! Magazine with the title "A Mother's Painful Choice".
Within the article, Us Weekly talks about a January 15 incident in which Palin, the governor of Alaska, called a local shock jock and laughed as he called her political opponent Lyda Green, a former cancer survivor, a "cancer," a "bitch" and ridiculed her weight.
"It's been very difficult to work with her," Green told Us Weekly. "I wish there had been more vetting."
On Monday, Palin released a statement confirming that her 17-year old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant, prompting a lot of media attention. Palin was selected as John McCain's VP choice last week.
Despite the call from both the Democrats and Republicans to leave Palin's family out of the media, many pundits say that it is contradictory for a public official who has a staunch stance against sex education and promotes abstinence-only programs to have a teenage daughter who is pregnant.
Palin will address the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Palin will accept the nomination as the vice president candidate of the Republican Party during her speech at the RNC.
Former Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson backed Palin's selection as the VP choice on Tuesday night during a speech at the RNC.
