Hunt for Caylee Anthony Continues as Casey Anthony Remains Jailed

The recent news revealing air samples and evidence taken from the trunk of a vehicle driven by Casey Anthony indicated the presence of a decomposing body the determined searchers looking for Caylee Anthony have remained steadfast in their hopes they will find the three-year-old girl.

A group of about 40 searchers continued to comb through areas of Orlando, FL and have said they would push on until they find Caylee or they run out of leads.

Caylee has been missing for more than two months but Casey Anthony didn’t report her daughter’s disappearance for nearly a month. Casey told investigators that she had left Caylee with a babysitter and when she returned both were gone.

Police were not able to substantiate that claim and eventually arrested and charged Casey Anthony with child neglect and lying to investigators. She was held in jail for a month before being freed on $500,000 bond. The bounty hunter that provided the bond had said he hoped Casey would help in the investigation but recently admitted she has done nothing to help find her daughter.

Casey was rearrested last week and charged on unrelated charges of check fraud. The 22-year-old mother had until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday to give prosecutors information in return for limited immunity but she refused the opportunity.

On Tuesday police announced the likelihood of finding Caylee Anthony alive was extremely slim, pointing to the evidence that has been gathered from the trunk of the vehicle as proof of a dead body.
