The creator and co-author of the book, Smart Golf with Hale Irwin, Jim Hartley, has created a website containing free golf advice for amateur golfers of all ability levels.
The golf instruction is part of Hartley's U.S. Putting Tour website, which provides information on a new amateur putting tour and national championship. Mr. Hartley is a top amateur golfer who has competed in several USGA and state amateur competitions.
"It's been over 10 years since I wrote Smart Golf with Hale Irwin," said Hartley. "So I thought it was time to share more golf advice and
putting tips to golfers and the U.S. Putting Tour website is the perfect online venue for doing so."
The
golf instruction covers both swing advice and golf strategy to help golfers lower their score by managing their game better on the course. One of Hartley's tips is to play your game, not someone else's, meaning to not get caught up in what other players in your group are doing, whether they're long hitters, fast players, overly analytical, or hot tempered. Just play within yourself.
Hartley recently launched the U.S. Putting Tour, which will feature nationwide local qualifying events throughout the year leading to the
national putting championship for amateur golfers next September in Carlsbad, California. The USPT National Championship will be held at The Crossings at Carlsbad, situated in coastal north county San Diego.
