TCVN ANNOUNCES “SURVIVOR 6” COMPETITION FOR ENTREPRENEURS

Entrepreneurs Compete for $65,000 in Prizes

Tech Coast Venture Network (TCVN) announces “Survivor 6” a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to show the world why their businesses are ready for prime time. During the Tech Coast Venture Forum on October 28 th, 2010, “Survivor 6” prominent investor judges will facilitate dozens of companies competing for an estimated $65,000 in prizes. Winners will walk away with prizes from legal, financial and accounting services to insurance, video production and funding readiness consulting. TCVN’s Survivor 6 is a premier start-up accelerator event that promises to bring businesses from all over the Western Region. Businesses representing a broad spectrum of concepts, sizes and maturity will all compete before a panel of judges in three rounds of pitching their business.  “Many of the businesses that will enter this contest are struggling in the difficult economic climate,” Said Bart Greenberg, TCVN Chairman, and partner at the law firm, Haynes and Boone, LLP. “These prizes could literally put a struggling entrepreneur on the road to the next level of success.” In each round the judges will eliminate candidates eligible for the estimated $65,000 dollars in value prizes until first, second and third prize winners are chosen.

EVERY company that registers for the event will have the opportunity to make at least one 30-second pitch to the TCVN panel of investors and move on to the final round of questioning to win the first prize valued at nearly $35,000.  A group of 15 companies will then be invited back as “sub-finalists” to return to the podium to make a 2 minute pitch and hopefully wow the judges enough to make it to round three where only 5 will be invited back as “finalists.” In round three each of the five finalists will have 7 minute of Questions and answers to get into the final three from which the winner will be chosen.  At the end of the evening, our investor panel will select the company they consider to be the best investment opportunity – The 2010 Survivor.

Several companies have parlayed their success at past TCVN Survivor events into increased notoriety, press opportunities and investment in their businesses.
