A 3-year old boy from California, for whom an Amber Alert had been issued, was found unharmed on Sunday night, according to authorities.
The boy named Dylan Kurihara had gone missing on Saturday after attending a wedding ceremony with his father.
Phillip Sanchez, the chief of the Pasadena Police Department, said that a man who knew about Dylan found the missing boy in a vehicle parked in a parking lot at around 10.40 pm on Sunday.
"The great news here is that he was in his car seat. He was asleep at the time we found him. He's in good shape", Sanchez informed journalists.
Dylan had attended a wedding ceremony on Saturday night with his father, according to news reports. The boy's mother informed the police on Sunday morning when he did not come back home.
California police started their investigations and found out that Dylan's father had been taken into police custody for public intoxication at around 10.30 pm on Saturday night.
"The father, identified as Joe Kurihara, does not recall being with the child due to his level of intoxication", police resources had initially said. "He was on foot at the time of his arrest and officers did not know that he was in charge of the child".
The police then asked for public's help in finding the missing boy.
Authorities in California have not confirmed whether additional charges will be filed against the boy's father or not.
