Rumor: Oprah Winfrey Refuses to Have Sarah Palin on Show

Oprah Winfrey is reportedly refusing to invite Republican vice president hopeful Sarah Palin on her talk show as she is a staunch supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. According to the Drudge Report, Winfrey is refusing to have Palin on the show “because of Obama” despite “half of her staff” requesting John McCain’s VP pick be invited.  

“Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on. Oprah’s Web site is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama,” says the insider.

Winfrey has issued a statement regarding to reports. She denies refusing to let Palin on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and says she may be invited after the campaign is over.

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign, when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates,” Winfrey said in a statement. “I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”
