Titans Trap Jaguars With 30-3 Victory

The Tennessee Titans handed the Jacksonville Jaguars a 30-3 rout Monday night after both teams saw their ace quarterbacks sitting out the game after suffering knockouts.

Vince Young of the Titans and David Garrard of the Jaguars were replaced by Kerry Collins and Trent Edwards, respectively, during the initial minutes of the game.

Collins is a veteran and proved his selection right by completing 11 of 16 passes for 110 yards and scoring a touchdown. He was the one who directed five consecutive scoring drives and earned his team the victory that has elevated them to 4-2, right at the top of AFC South. Rob Bironas also played his role with his excellent three field goals during the game. Titans are facing a three-way tie with Indianapolis and Houston.

The Titans made full use of two interceptions and a short punt and turned three short fields into 13 points. Tight end Marcedes Lewis made a fumble at the Tennessee 10-yard line in the second quarter, and receiver Tiquan Underwood allowed Titans' Vincent Fuller to tear a pass out of his hands, right in the end zone of the fourth quarter. A total of four turnovers were what the Jaguars were able to manage in the game.

Edwards was a new addition to the Jaguars as he was claimed off waivers three weeks ago from the Buffalo Bills. He was 11 of 20 for 115 yards, with just two interceptions.

The Jaguars are 3-3 in AFC South and appear all set to be in chase mode; they have finished last in the division for the last two years.
