Singer Brandy and her professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy have wowed the judges and kicked off reigning leader Jennifer Grey from the lead in the hit TV series “Dancing With The Stars.”
The theme this week was TV, and Brandy did an energetic quickstep to the theme from “Friends”. The judges complimented the couple on their obvious trust as dance partners, as well as labeling it her best performance on the show. Brandy scored straight nines from the judging panel.
Grey and her partner, Derek Hough still had the goods, with a number two position for their foxtrot to the “Love and Marriage” jingle from much-loved TV series “Married With Children.” The judges thought that despite not being the best they’ve seen, Grey was still elegant and a step above the rest of the contestants.
While the rest of the bunch put on a motley performance featuring themes from “The Brady Bunch,” “Charlie’s Angels” and “The Hills” the night’s standout cringe-factor performance went to birthday girl Bristol Palin.
Palin did a jive to the theme of “The Monkeys” which was augmented, or rather railroaded by the fact that for the first part of the routine the couple were in monkey suits. After stripping from the furry costumes, the pair failed to improve on their effort and the now-20-year old Palin scored straight sixes from all of the judges. Can she survive another week? Not if this performance is anything to go by.
