"I Love New York" Star Sentence to 50 Years to Life in Prison
Jamal Trulove Convicted of Murder and Sentenced to Prison
On Friday, Jamal Rashead Trulove, who was once a contestant on the VH1 reality show "I Love New York", was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison on a murder charge. The sentence was handed to the 29-year-old in a San Francisco court.
Trulove was convicted in February of shooting at and consequently murdering a 29-year-old man called Seu Kuka after the two men were involved in a fight at the Sunnydale housing projects.
According to a report from E! Online, "The
episode [in which Trulove was eliminated from the show] was taped just three weeks before the shooting. Even though he
lasted just one episode, his appearance proved fateful. A woman
recognized him as the murder suspect and told San Francisco cops she saw
him on TV."
It took cops approximately a year to find and arrest the suspected murder, but he was finally found in the city of Seaside in Monterey. Trulove was arrested on a murder warrant, and the rest is now history.
