Tylenol Recalled Over Musty Smell

Johnson and Johnson has issued a recall for nearly 128,000 bottles of Tylenol because of a musty smell coming from the tablets. The recall includes 50 count bottles of Tylenol 8 hour caplets with the lot number BCM155. The affected products were sold in the United States and Puerto Rico.

"This voluntary action is being taken as a precaution and the risk of adverse medical events is remote," the company said in a statement.

Johnson and Johnson believes the odor is caused by the chemical 2,4,6-tribromoanisole. This is not the first recall related to the odor. Last July, children's Tylenol, Motrin, and Benadryl allergy tablets were recalled for the same problem.
