College Football Scores: Georgia Tech Uses Long TD Run in Fourth to Top Boston College

Jonathan Dwyer found a hole and sprinted 43-yards for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to give the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-0) a 19-16 victory over the Boston College Eagles (1-1) on Saturday.

 

B.C. had a 9-7 lead at the half as Steve Aponavicius kicked three field goals to offset a one-yard TD run from Josh Nesbitt for the Yellow Jackets.

 

Georgia Tech moved in front 10-9 in the third after Scott Blair kicked a 27-yard field goal but the Eagles with a Chris Crane to Ifeanyi Momah 7-yard TD pass to move back in front 16-10 at the end of the third quarter.

 

Tech’s defense came up big early in the fourth and managed to sack Crane in the endzone for a safety. Two minutes later Dwyer hit the 43-yard TD run to give the Jackets the lead.

 

Georgia Tech will travel to Virginia Tech next week while Boston College faces Central Florida in two weeks.
