AP Top 25 College Football Scores: Tim Tebow Leads #5 Florida Gators to Easy Win Over Miami Hurricanes

Tim Tebow threw for 256 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 55 yards rushing while the defense of the #5 Florida Gators (2-0) held the Miami Hurricanes (1-1) to just 140 yards of total offense in a 26-3 beating on Saturday night.

Tebow got started early as he hit Aaron Hernandez on a 14-yard touchdown on the Gators first possession in the opening quarter but that would be the only offensive points Florida would put on the board for the first three quarters.

Miami cut their deficit to 7-3 on a Matt Bosher 50 yard field goal but the Hurricanes would give two of those points back when they had a punt blocked that sailed through the back of their endzone for a safety.

Neither team could get on the board in the third quarter but Percy Harvin gave the Gators some breathing room early in the fourth with a 2-yard touchdown run to put the score at 16-3 and then Tebow hit Louis Murphy on a 19 yard touchdown pass to pad the lead even more.

Florida will have next weekend off before opening their SEC schedule with the Tennessee Volunteers while Miami will have a week off as well and take on Texas A&M on Sept. 20.
