AP Top 25 College Football Scores: Georgia Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators Roll in Week 2 Action

College football’s second week is in the books and after a few routs, close calls and upsets the AP Top 25 will certainly look different than heading into the week. While Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida and Missouri scored convincing blowouts Ohio State, South Florida and BYU were less than impressive. As for West Virginia, the Mountaineers may find themselves outside the Top 20 after their loss to East Carolina.

 

Scores from AP Top 25 college football action in Week 2:

 

Knowshon Moreno rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while Matt Stafford threw for 213 yad sand a pair of TDs as the #2 Georgia Bulldogs pounded Central Michigan 56-17.

 

The #3 Ohio State Buckeyes needed a fourth quarter comeback to knock off the Ohio Bobcats 26-14 on Saturday. The Bobcats sealed their own fate with five turnovers in the game.

 

Sam Bradford threw for 395 yards and five touchdowns and Ryan Broyles had 141 yards receiving and a TD as the #4 Oklahoma Sooners blasted the Cincinnati Bearcats 52-26.

 

Tim Tebow had 256 yards passing and two touchdowns and added 55 yards rushing as the #5 Florida Gators had no trouble knocking off the Miami Hurricanes 26-3.

 

Chase Daniel was 16/17 passing for 245 yards and three touchdowns and the #6 Missouri Tigers put up 592 yards of total offense in a 52-3 rout of Southeast Missouri State.

 

The #8 West Virginia Mountaineers were upset 24-3 by the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday after collecting just 12 first downs and converting 3-12 third down opportunities.

 

Ben Tate rushed for 71 yards and a TD and added 51 yards receiving as the #9 Auburn Tigers jumped to a 24-0 lead and held on to beat Southern Miss 27-13.

 

Colt McCoy threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns and Quan Cosby had 154 yards receiving and a TD as the #10 Texas Longhorns beat UTEP 42-13.

 

P.J. Hill and John Clay each had a pair of rushing touchdowns and Allan Evridge threw for 308 yards and a TD as the #11 Wisconsin Badgers overcame a 14-0 deficit to beat Marshall 51-14.

 

Graham Harrell threw for 297 yards and a touchdown while Michael Crabtree had 158 yards receiving and a TD as #12 Texas Tech beat Nevada 35-19.

 

Despite an offense that could do nothing the #13 Alabama Crimson Tide managed to beat Tulane 20-6 after scoring two touchdowns on special teams and a 15-yard TD run from Mark Ingram.

 

Todd Reesing was 32/38 for 412 yards passing and three touchdowns while Dezmon Briscoe had 146 yards receiving and a TD and Daymond Patterson had 130 yards receiving and two TDs as the #14 Kansas Jayhawks beat Louisiana Tech 29-0.

 

Max Hall threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns and the #15 BYU Cougars blocked an extra point with two seconds on the clock to beat Washington 28-27.

 

Matt Grothe threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns, the third TD a 25-yarder to Taurus Johnson in overtime to lift the #17 South Florida Bulls past Central Florida 31-24.

 

Legarrette Blount rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns as the #18 Oregon Ducks put up 688 yards of total offense to bomb Utah State 66-24.

 

Evan Royster had 141 yards rushing and three touchdowns while Jordan Norwood added 116 yards receiving and a TD as the #19 Penn State Nittany Lions pounded Oregon State 45-14.

 

Sam Swank kicked a 41-yard field goal with three seconds left on the clock to lift the #20 Wake Forest Demon Deacons past Mississippi 30-28.

 

Brian Johnson threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns and added 80 yards on the ground and another TD as the #22 Utah Utes beat UNLV 42-21.

 

Juice Williams threw for 124 yards and a TD and rushed for another 174 yards and two touchdowns as the #24 Illinois Fighting Illini beat Eastern Illinois 47-21.
