NFL Scores: Matt Cassel Steps in for Tom Brady to Lift New England Patriots Past Kansas City Chiefs

Tom Brady was pulled from the game early after suffering a knee injury but Matt Cassel stepped in and threw for 152 yards and a TD while Randy Moss finished with 116 yards receiving and a touchdowns as the New England Patriots knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 on Sunday.

Cassel got the Patriots in the endzone in the second quarter when he found Moss on a 10-yard toss for a 7-0 lead.

Sammy Morris pushed that advantage to 14-3 in the third quarter when he ran the ball in from 5-yards out but the Chiefs cut their deficit to 14-10 after Dwayne Bowe caught a 13-yard TD pass from Damon Huard early in the fourth.

Stephen Gostkowski pushed the lead up to seven with 2:30 left in the game on a 37-yard field goal but the Chiefs managed to drive down to the Patriots 5-yard line but could not hammer the ball in from the tying score.
