Pfizer
Inc. (NYSE:PFE) added 1.18% to $17.59. The company said that it
will pay $240 million for a 40% stake in Laboratorio Teuto Brasileiro S.A., a
leading Brazilian generic drug firm.
The deal includes an option by Pfizer to acquire the remaining 60%
stake of Teuto's shares starting in 2014.
Over the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range of $14-$20.36.
At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $141.43
billion.
The
McClatchy Company (NYSE:MNI) went up 0.63% to $3.17 as the
company said Tuesday its third-quarter earnings fell to $11.92 million, or 14
cents a share, from $23.56 million, or 28 cents a share, in the year-ago
period.
Wall Street analysts expected earnings of 10 cents a share, on
revenue of $347 million, according to a survey by FactSet Research.
Over the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range of $2.41-$7.16.
The stock went down more than 10% year-to-date.
Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) lost 3.53%
and currently trading at $20.20. The company said that it swung to a
third-quarter net loss of $48 million, or 17 cents a share, from a profit of $4
million, or 1 cent a share, a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter fell 2.7%
to $2.48 billion.
Analysts
polled by FactSet Research had been expecting earnings of 11 cents a share on
revenue of $2.62 billion.
The New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT) moved down
1.28% to $7.69. Yesterday, the company reported third quarter net loss
attributable to New York Times of $4.26 million or $0.03 per share, compared to
a net loss of $35.62 million or $0.25 per share last year.
On
average, 4 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report
earnings of $0.05 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special
items.
The
52-week range of the stock is $7.06-$14.87.
