Gold Stocks Opens Higher

New Gold Inc. (USA) (AMEX:NGD) added 3.41% to $6.68. Yesterday, UBS downgraded New Gold, Inc. from Buy to Neutral with a price target of $7.25.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $3.18-$7.53 and is up more than 86% year-to-date.

Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE:NEM) rose 1.17% to $60.63. Newmont Mining Corporation is a gold producing company with assets or operations in the United States, Australia, Peru, Indonesia, Ghana, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $41.45-$65.50. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company is $29.85 billion.

AngloGold Ashanti Limited (ADR) (NYSE:AU) went up 1.52% to $45.94. Earlier this week, Macquarie upgraded AngloGold Ashanti from Neutral to Outperform.
