First-Hour Gold Stock Gainers

Northgate Minerals Corporation (USA) (AMEX:NXG) added 1.08% to $2.81. Northgate Minerals Corporation is a Canada-based gold and copper producing company with operations, development projects and exploration properties in Canada and Australia.  

The stock opened at $2.79 and has a 52-week range of $2.30-$3.59. In the past one month of trading sessions, the stock went down more than 19%.

Keegan Resources Inc. (AMEX:KGN) gained 0.95% to $7.39. Keegan Resources Inc. is an exploration-stage company. The Company is a natural resource company engaged in the acquisition and exploration of mineral resources in West Ghana. It focuses on advancing its principal property, the Esaase Gold Project to commercial production.  

The stock opened at $7.31 and is trading within the range of $7.30- $7.69. In the past one month of trading sessions, the stock went down more than 4%.

Yamana Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSE:AUY) rose 1.03% to $10.76. Yamana Gold Inc. is a Canada-based gold producer engaged in gold mining and related activities, including exploration, extraction, processing and reclamation.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $9.16-$14.37 and is down more than 4% year-to-date.

Capital Gold Corporation (AMEX:CGC) jumped 0.69% to $4.37. Last week, the company reaffirmed fiscal 2011 production guidance to a range of 65,000 to 70,000 ounces of gold.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $2.10-$5.43. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stood at $267.45 million.
