Tech Stocks Jumped with Yahoo! Inc.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is up 3.56% to $16.04. The company said that its third-quarter profit nearly doubled as display advertising revenue grew 17 percent. Net income climbed to $396.1 million or 29 cents a share, from $186.1 million, or 13 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.

Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of 15 cents per share on revenue of $1.13 billion.

Shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) added 0.12% to $25.13. The chief software architect Ray Ozzie is stepping down but will remain with the company “as he transitions the teams and ongoing strategic projects within his organization.” The role of chief software architect will not be refilled.

The stock opened at $25.25 and is trading within the range of $22.73-$31.58. The average daily volume of the stock is 60.43 million shares.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) went up 0.31% to $138.46. The company said its third-quarter net income jumped to $3.6 billion or $2.82 a share, from $3.2 billion, or $2.40 a share in the same period last year. Revenue rose 3% to $24.3 billion.

The stock has a 52-week range of $116-$143.03.

Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) jumped 1.04% to $14.64. Dell Inc. is a holding company, which conducts its business globally, through its subsidiaries. It offers a range of product categories, including mobility products, desktop personal computers (PCs), software and peripherals, servers and networking, and storage.

The stock went down more than 1% year-to-date.
