The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday the recall of nearly 2 million Graco strollers that have caused the deaths of 4 infants. The strollers are also blamed for injuring 6 other infants.
“An infant can pass through the opening between the stroller tray and seat bottom, but his/her head and neck can become entrapped by the tray. Infants who become entrapped at the neck are at risk of strangulation,” Graco writes of the recalled strollers on their official Web site.
The recall includes Quattro and MetroLite strollers. The affected Quattro strollers were manufactured before November 2006 while the MetroLite strollers were manufactured after July 2007.
Graco urges consumers to stop using the recalled strollers immediately. The company is offering a free repair kit.
