James Harrison - An Illegal Hit or Soft Rules?

Pittsburg is seeing her share of dramatic performances. It is unfortunate that these performances are being delivered by NFL players! After Ben Roethlisberger, linebacker James Harrison is allegedly thinking of taking up early retirement after being fined a whopping $75,000 for an illegal move on the field against Browns player and receiver Mohamed Massaquoi.

Injuries On or Off the Field

There have been quite a few injuries lately that have resulted from misjudgment on the field. The injured players lose time, health issues surmount, and sometimes their livelihood can be impacted. The cases are such that if these injuries were caused by accidents on the street, accident lawyers would be screaming foul and rushing to the scene. Accident lawyers are needed to obtain good settlements through their negotiation skills. An experienced accident attorney is almost indispensable. The compensation that some accident victims receive run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and this, coupled with, personal and auto insurance ensures that they have enough money to more than equalize the situation.

Decision Made

In collision sports, like the NFL, injuries are sometimes caused by aggression on the field or just bad luck. The referees and the NFL board have the responsibility of judging the intent of the players involved and awarding a fine to the victim or athlete based on the degree of suffering he has been put through. Players like Harrison might scream foul but the decision has been made by higher authorities after looking at all angles and aspects.
