UK Court Convicts Three on Conspiracy to Commit Murder Charges Involving Liquid Explosives

A UK court has convicted three of eight men accused of plotting to detonate liquid explosives on transatlantic flights, finding Abdulla Ahmed Ali, Assad Sarwar and Tanvir Hussain guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

Despite the accusations that the men had made plans to target planes with liquid explosives disguised as soft drinks the jury did not deliver a guilty verdict on charges of conspiracy to target an aircraft. After realizing the men had the ability to disguise explosives as drinks sweeping reforms were made to airport security worldwide.

The jury did not reach a verdict on four of the accused while the eighth man was cleared of charges.
