Harrison Weighing Retirement, Favre Silent on Allegations

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison opted to sit out the Wednesday's practice after discussing the $75,000 fine with his coach.

The fine was slammed on the start linebacker by the NFL as the apex body is revising its rules and Harrison's helmet hit on a Browns receiver was an offense serious enough to earn him a fine.

Harrison appears to be devastated by the fine and the stricter enforcement of NFL laws and is weighing retirement although Coach Mike Tomlin has not taken that remark seriously.

Harrison said on many radio interviews after the fine that he was not certain about continuing with his career as he was unsure about his game and whether it could earn more fines or even suspensions. He has been a three-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker and has played a crucial role in earning the Steelers victories during many critical games.

In another move, Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings refused to comment on the ongoing NFL investigations into a two-year old allegation where he was accused of sending lewd photos and suggestive text messages to a female employee of the New York Jets.

The ace quarterback had a meeting with NFL vice president for security Milt Ahlerich on Tuesday where they discussed the allegations about him reaching out in a suggestive manner towards then-Jets game emcee Jenn Sterger in 2008; Favre was with the Jets at the time.

NFL has strict codes and regulations about player conduct but Streger did not press the charges earlier thus saving him from a suspension.
