A strong earthquake shook Mexico Thursday morning at 11:53. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered in the Gulf of California about 6.2 miles below the seabed. The epicenter was located about 65 miles south of the city of Los Mochis in Sinaloa, and about 85 miles of La Paz in Baja California.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue a tsunami warning. There were no immediate reports of damages, injuries or deaths.
