Ducks Slam Bruins 60-13

The Oregon Ducks did not allow the UCLA Bruins to take stock of the game as they advanced to a 60-13 victory on Thursday night without facing any major opposition.

It was Darron Thomas who scored the highest for his team and also created a new career record in the process when he threw for 308 yards and scored three touchdowns with an average of 9.9. The top-ranked Ducks (7-0, 4-0) also had the support of LaMichael James, currently the best rusher in the country, who finished 123 yards and two touch downs for the Ducks.

He was not available during the first quarter because of what appeared to be an ankle injury but later joined the game and scored big. He has thrown 971 yards in six games with an average of 161.8 and yesterday night was his 14th career game where he threw at least 100 yards.

Thomas came with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Maehl in the second half, and James scored on a 6-yard run. Thomas completed a total of 22 passes out of 31, and ran for 48 yards.

The Bruins (3-4, 1-3) had to play without quarterback Kevin Prince as he had injured his knee; Richard Brehaut played as a replacement and completed 16 of 23 passes for 159 yards with an average of 6.9.

UCLA, running on a pistol offense, had an average of 95.5 yards passing when they entered the field. They are still leading the series against the Ducks 39-24, but Oregon has won the last three games.
