Freeport-McMoRan
Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX) dropped 1.86% to $94.64. The
company said third-quarter profit climbed 27% to $1.18 billion, or $2.49 a
share, with revenue rising to $5.15 billion from $4.14 billion.
Analysts polled by FactSet had expected earnings of $2.08
a share on revenue of $4.59 billion from the Phoenix, Ariz.-based mining firm.
Over the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range
of $56.71-$100.34. At current market price, the market capitalization of the
company stands at $44.50 billion.
Entergy Corporation (NYSE:ETR) slid
0.03% to $75.26. The company said Thursday its third-quarter earnings climbed
to $492.9 million, or $2.62 a share, from $455.2 million, or $2.32 a share, in
the year-ago period.
Revenue
increased to $3.33 billion, from $2.94 billion. Wall Street analysts expected
Entergy to earn $2.60 a share, on revenue of $3.44 billion, according to a
survey by FactSet Research.
The
stock went down more than 9% year-to-date.
Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) lost
0.79% and currently trading at $24.97. Yesterday, the company said that its
fiscal second-quarter profit jumped to $170.9 million or 65 cents a share, from
$64 million, or 23 cents a share, in the comparable quarter last year. Revenue
surged 49% to $619.7 million from $414.95 million.
Analysts,
on average, expected the company to report earnings of 65 cents per share on
revenue of $626.32 million.
The
52-week range of the stock is $21.01-$29.40.
