Orbital Sciences Corp. (NYSE:ORB) rose 1.20% to $15.97. The company posted
quarterly results that edged past market estimates, but forecast 2011 results
below Wall Street view, citing potential contract award delays due to
uncertainty about the federal budget.
For
the third quarter, net income was $10.6 million, or 18 cents a share, compared
with $9.4 million, or 16 cents a share, a year ago.
Analysts
on average were looking for earnings of $1.13 a share on revenue of $1.41
billion, according to Thomson Reuters
Westell Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTL) declined
1.25% to $2.37 o fter the company reported profit of $4.8 million or $0.07 per
share in its fiscal second quarter. Revenue surged 8% year on year to $51.1
million.
Cash
and cash equivalents increased by $8.3 million during the quarter, to $70.1
million.
Over
the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range of $0.96-$2.46. The stock
made its fresh 52-week high of $2.46.
International
Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) gained 0.41% to $140.41. The
company announced that it has acquired Clarity Systems, a privately-held
company based in Toronto, Canada.
Yesterday, Dow Jones reported that IBM Corporation has
received a five year contract from India's Suzlon Energy Ltd. to offer business
consulting services and manage its application development and maintenance
needs. No financial details of the deal were immediately disclosed.
The
stock opened at $140.15 and is trading within the range of $138.13-$140.75.
