Week 1 of the NFL season is now in the books and there were plenty of impressive individual offensive efforts.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger posted a 147 QB Rating after completing 13/14 passes for 137 yards and two TDs. Roethlisberger’s teammate, Willie Parker, also did his job to get on the leader board as his 138 yards rushing was the second most gained in the opening week.
Parker wasn’t even close to the top rusher of the week as the Atlanta Falcons new running back Michael Turner chewed up 220 yards on the ground to set a franchise record for yards rushing in a game.
While Roethlisberger finished with highest QB Rating the Denver Broncos were certainly pleased with Jay Cutler’s 299 yards passing and two TDs, good enough for a 137.3 QB Rating. Cutler’s favorite target, rookie Eddie Royal, made his debut in a big way as he collected 146 yards receiving, tops in Week 1, and had a TD in the broncos win over the Oakland Raiders.
Donovan McNabb certainly had the type of game he had envisioned as the Philadelphia Eagles QB threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns, good enough for a 131 QB Rating and getting three of his receivers, Hank Baskett, Greg Lewis and DeSean Jackson in the top ten for yards receiving in the opening week.
Despite the injury to Tom Brady, New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss still had his yards as he finished with 116 yards receiving and a TD, that touchdown came from the arm of Matt Cassel who posted a 116 QB Rating.
In his first game in a New York Jets uniform Brett Favre threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns to earn a 125.9 QB Rating, fourth best on the week.
