Hip Hop Community Supports Obama by Wearing Barack Obama Bling

Barack Obama watches available at hiphopbling.com

Move over tired old bumper sticker, the young and enthusiastic Obama supporters and hip hop fans are supporting the candidate in a whole new way. We’ve seen hats with the campaign slogans and T-shirts with cartoon Obama drawings, but now add bling jewelry to that list. Yes that’s right a ton of Obama bling is making its way to the wrists and necks of the hip hop community across the country. It’s their way of showing their support in a unique and fashionable way, the way hip hop culture tends to do things.

One internet hip hop jewelry retailer, www.hiphopbling.com, has recently released a line of Obama watches. While the site does not officially endorse one campaign over another, they’ve got the bling for anyone who wants to support Obama’s historic campaign. The watches themselves are high quality, “iced out” timepieces that the company usually sells on their website. These Obama 08 watches have been custom made with special picture dials featuring various Obama 08 designs, many with the slogan “the new hope.”

The watches come in men’s sizes only at the moment, and feature genuine leather bands, Japanese movements, and often time bezels decorated with simulated diamonds. No doubt about it, the watches designs scream hip hop, and the person wearing the watch screams hip hop supports Obama. A very limited quantity of the watches has been made and there is only one planned production run. Hip hop bling’s marketing director comments on the products: “I think these watches are pretty cool. They are Obama watches, but they aren’t cheesy and cheap looking, like the typical watch with a company name or political theme. They are the same big, heavy watches that we carry and they have a distinctive hip hop theme. They’ve been doing pretty well and we expect to sell out come November.”

The company has plans for even more Obama bling jewelry in the coming weeks, and they expect the items to be hot sellers. When asked if there will be a line of McCain bling, company representatives replied “Who knows, we might even have a Ralph Nadar bling line, you’ll just have to wait and see.”
