Gasserpe, AKA Alexander Jenkins, Has Around 50 Albums Waiting for the Right Record Label

Alex Jenkins of Fort Myers, Florida is the epitome of a poor and starving artist.  With almost fifty albums filling up the already limited space of his small mobile trailer, Jenkins is desperate to distribute his music, but lacks the financial backing to do so.  In a YourFindit interview Jenkins spoke with Rebecca Firth about the impact his life has had on his music and the life he lives today to promote it.

Alex Jenkins lived a hard life.  Having dealt with the death of both of his parents and a crippling addiction to alcohol, Jenkins was arrested on multiple occasions and suffered a motorcycle accident that still hurts him today.  After playing bass for a heavy metal band in Texas, Jenkins realized that he was becoming one of the types in the mosh pit, always drunk and getting into trouble. 

Jenkins uses his past experiences to fuel the inspiration behind his music.  Although some of his music is light hearted and tells the story of happier times, the majority of his work is darker and reminiscent of his troubled times.  Some are even to reflective and to painful for Jenkins to listen to.  He just writes the music, puts it on a track and “hopes for the best.”
