Laura Obzera, Illinois School Nurse, Arrested for Sexual Abuse of Teenage Boys

Laura Obzera, a school nurse in Bolingbrook, IL, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Thursday afternoon.

Obzera, 49, was charged for allegedly having sexual relations with three teen boys in 2006. She works for Valley View Community School District 365U in Bolingbrook, working specifically as a health assistant at Wood View Elementary School.

There is no indication that the sexual abuse of the boys, ages 13 to 17, happened on school property. Obzera apparently met the boys outside of the school.

Obzera's arrest comes just days after Bolingbrook police joined a Department of Children and Family Services inquiry into sexually charged text messages that were exchanged between an adult female and male teens, officials said. She was released Thursday on $50,000 bail.

Obzera has been a licensed practical nurse in Illinois since 1982 and has never been reprimanded by the state.
