Gold Stocks Ended Mostly Higher

Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE:NEM) closed at $59.37. Newmont Mining Corporation is a gold producing company with assets or operations in the United States, Australia, Peru, Indonesia, Ghana, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico. It is also engaged in the production of copper, principally through its Batu Hijau operation in Indonesia and Boddington operation in Australia.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $41.45-$65.50. At today`s closing market price, the market capitalization of the company stood at $29.23 billion.

Yamana Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSE:AUY) added 0.93% to $10.81. Yamana Gold Inc. is a Canada-based gold producer engaged in gold mining and related activities, including exploration, extraction, processing and reclamation.

The stock opened at $10.96 and has a 52-week range of $9.16-$14.37. In the past one month of trading sessions, the stock went down more than 2%.

Harmony Gold Mining Co. (ADR) (NYSE:HMY) gained 0.09% to $11.26. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited is a gold producer. The Company conducts underground and surface gold mining and related activities, including exploration, processing, smelting and beneficiation. 

The stock opened at $11.42 and was trading within the range of $11.21- $11.43. In the past one month of trading sessions, the stock went down more than 1%.

NovaGold Resources Inc. (USA) (AMEX:NG) soared 5.54% to $10.10. NovaGold Resources Inc. is a precious metals company, which is engaged in the exploration and development of mineral properties in Alaska, the United States and British Columbia, Canada.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $4.09-$10.19 and is up more than 71% year-to-date.
