Silver Stocks Closed Higher

Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) went up 2.09% to $6.84. Last week, UBS downgraded Hecla Mining from Buy to Neutral with price target increased from $6.75 to $7.75.

The stock opened at $6.85 and traded within the range of $6.77-$6.93. The stock went up more than 9% year-to-date. 

Silver Wheaton Corp. (USA) (NYSE:SLW) surged 4.23% to $27.33. Silver Wheaton Corp. is a mining company, which generates its revenue primarily from the sale of silver. As of December 31, 2009, the Company had entered into 13 long-term silver purchase agreements and two long-term precious metal purchase agreements.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $11.86-$28.39. 

Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (NYSE:CDE) jumped 1.93% to $20.08. Silver Standard Resources Inc. is a silver resource company that assembled a portfolio of silver-dominant projects located in seven countries in the Americas and Australia. The Company’s project, Pirquitas Project is focused on operating and producing silver.

The stock opened at $20.13 and traded within the range of $19.99-$20.50.

Endeavour Silver Corp. (CAN) (AMEX:EXK) soared 6% to $4.77. Endeavour Silver Corp. is a Canadian mineral company engaged in the evaluation, acquisition, exploration, development and exploitation of mineral properties.

The stock went up more than 28% year-to-date.
