Large Cap Tech Stocks Ended Higher

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) added 0.45% to $308.84. Last week, the company said its fourth quarter earnings soared from a year ago, but the firm sold fewer of its popular iPad tablets than some investors had expected.

For the quarter, Apple reported net income of $4.31 billion, or $4.64 per share, compared with net income of $2.53 billion or $2.77 per share for the same period the previous year.

The stock went up more than 45% year-to-date.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) increased 0.12% to $139.84. The company said Monday that its third-quarter net income improved to $3.6 billion or $2.82 a share, from $3.2 billion, or $2.40 a share, in the year-ago period.

Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of $2.75 per share on revenue of $24.12 billion.

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $116-$143.03. At today`s closing market price, the market capitalization of the company stood at $173.40 billion.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) gained 0.25% and closed at $28.36. The company said Thursday that its third-quarter profit surged to $12.3 billion, or $2.08 a share, from $3.19 billion, or 54 cents, a year earlier.

Analysts, on average, estimated profit of 55 cents a share on revenue of $31.2 billion, according to FactSet.      

Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $23.78-$29.43.
