More Golfers Want To Shoot Under Par More Than Get a Hole-in-one

In a survey of amateur golfers conducted by the U.S. Putting Tour, 78 percent of golfers said they would rather shoot an under-par round of golf than make a hole-in-one. The survey also reports that fewer than one percent of the golfers reported scoring a round under par, while two percent of them said they had made at least one ace.

"The survey results don't surprise me," said U.S. Putting Tour president, Jim Hartley. "Most golfers consider a hole-in-one to be lucky, whereas an under-par round involves a great deal of skill."

The U.S. Putting Tour runs amateur putting tournaments for men and women across the United States and holds an annual national putting championship in September. The 2011 USPT National Championship is scheduled for September 24-30 in Carlsbad, California at The Crossings.

Amateur golfers can enter the national championship directly or attempt to qualify at an official local qualifying event. Golfers looking at golf business opportunities can run qualifying events throughout the year.

More information on the golf business opportunity and the national putting championship is available at the U.S. Putting Tour website.
