Sherwin-Williams Company (NYSE:SHW) dropped
5.90% to $70.17. For the July-September quarter, the company earned $175.3
million, or $1.60 a share, compared with $175.2 million, or $1.51 a share, a
year ago.
Analysts
on an average were expecting the company to earn $1.68 a share, on revenue of
$2.17 billion.
The
company forecast full-year EPS in the range $4.12-$4.22, down from its previous
view of $4.12-$4.52.
The
stock went up more than 13% year-to-date.
Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK) plunged
19.20% to $38.56. Lexmark reported third-quarter net income of $72 million, or
90 cents per share, up from $10 million, or 13 cents per share from a year
earlier.
The
company also announced that its chief executive, Paul Curlander plans to retire
in the spring of 2011.
The company's
revenue rose 6.4 percent to $1.02 billion but fell short of analysts' average
estimates of $1.04 billion, according to Thomson Reuters.
Over
the past 52-week, the stock traded within the range of $24.46-$48.07.
Tellabs, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLAB) slumped
13.38% to $6.98. The company said its third-quarter earnings rose to $56.5
million, or 15 cents a share, from $29.3 million, or 7 cents a share, in the
year-ago period.
Wall
Street analysts expected earnings of 14 cents a share, and revenue of $421.7
million, according to a survey by FactSet Research. Tellabs expects
fourth-quarter revenue of $410 million to $430 million, below the Wall Street
target of $441.2 million.
The stock opened at $7.10 and is trading within the range of $6.91-$8.08.
