Say what, Coach?
During his weekly media appearance, Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley tried to explain his young team's troubles this season with a World War II comparison.
Dooley related his team's inability to remain poised in game situations to how the Germans dealt with the D-Day invasion.
"Right now we're like the Germans in World War II," Dooley said. "Here comes the boats, they're coming. You have the binoculars, and it's like, 'Oh, my God, the invasion is coming.' "
Dooley says he was not trying to attack the German people, but simply make a reference to something that happened in the past.
It's been a rough season for the Vols. They are experiencing an extreme lack of depth due to injuries and revolving coaching changes the past few seasons.
The Volunteers (2-5 overall, 0-4 SEC) have now lost 3 games in a row and are the only team in the SEC without a division win.
