Bombs Rip Through India Capital, Kill at last 18

At least 18 people were killed and more than 80 injured after five bombs exploded in busy markets in India’s capital city of Delhi.

Two of the bombs exploded in the central shopping district of Connaught Place while the other three were detonated in the Karol Bagh area where several busy markets are located. While the bombs were not particularly powerful there were large crowds in each of the area when they exploded.

A group calling themselves “Indian Mujahideen,” believed to be Islamic militants, had sent an email to a local television station prior to the attacks stating “Do whatever you can. Stop us if you can.”
