AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #2 Georgia Bulldogs Stay Perfect in Tough SEC Road Win Against South Carolina Gamecocks

Knowshon Moreno rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, Matt Stafford threw for 145 yards and the defense of the #2 Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) recovered a huge fumble in the endzone late in the game to knock off the South Carolina Gamecocks (1-2) 14-7 in a key SEC matchup on Saturday.

South Carolina held a 7-6 lead going into halftime but the Bulldogs finally broke through with a touchdown in the third quarter when Moreno scored on a 4-yard run with just under five minutes left and after a two-point conversion Georgia was up 14-7.

The Gamecocks looked like they were ready to tie the game in the fourth quarter as they drove down to the Bulldogs 2-yard-line but Rennie Curran forced a fumble and Asher Allen recovered in the endzone for Georgia to earn a touchback.

South Carolina’s defense continued to hold Georgia’s offense and the Gamecocks had one final drive to tie the score as Chris Smelley drove his team down the field with less than a minute left in the game but an interception by Reshad Jones inside the Georgia 10-yard-line with 13 seconds left sealed the win for the Dogs.

Georgia will travel to take on Arizona State next week while South Carolina will look to bounce bak against Wofford.
