AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #7 LSU Tigers Use Charles Scott to Run Over North Texas

Charles Scott rushed for 102 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns, Trindon Holliday scored on a 92-yard punt return and the #7 LSU Tigers (2-0) defense held the North Texas Mean Green (0-3) to just 43 yards rushing in a 41-3 blowout Saturday night.

Scott got the scoring going for the Tigers in the first quarter with a 39-yard TD run and after both teams traded field goals Scott was off to the races again as he added his second touchdown of the game on a 43-yard burst in the second quarter to give LSU a 17-3 lead.

Three minutes after Scott’s second touchdown the Tigers were celebrating again as Holliday took a North Texas punt back 92-yards for a touchdown and the rout was on.

LSU added a pair of TDs in the third quarter as Andrew Hatch scored on a QB keeper from 7-yards out and Quinn Johnson added a 5-yard touchdown run to wrap up the scoring.

The Tigers will now have their work cut out for them as they travel to take on #9 Auburn next week while North Texas will face Rice on Sept. 27.
