The #17 Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) used three quarterbacks to throw for five touchdowns and their running game picked up 216 yards and a pair of TDs in a 55-13 blowout of the Syracuse Orange (0-3) on Saturday afternoon.
Daryll Clark threw for 163 yards and tossed two TDs in the first quarter and Pat Devlin passed for 130 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter as the Nittany Lions built a 38-6 by halftime.
Jordan Norwood was the main beneficiary of the aerial assault as he collected 113 yards receiving and two touchdowns while Deon Butler totaled 110 yards and a pair of TDs as well.
Defensively Penn State was solid as they limited the Orange to just 159 yards of total offense and allowed just 8 first downs on the day.
With just under three minutes left in the game senior quarterback Paul Cianciolo became the third Penn State signal caller to toss a TD, hitting Derek Moye on a 33-yarder to close out the scoring.
Penn State will face Temple next week while Syracuse will take on Northeastern.
